I just installed SMF

Well i just installed SMF on my website, and when i go to www.rwf.x10hosting.net it does not work? Any help? And the installation said it was successful.

Im on instand web hosting, oops.

Maybe you put it in a directory.
Since that site looks completely empty.

Can you see the files there through FTP ?

did you install in the root of your site? because you need to install it in public_html or public_http, something like that, you can't install it right in the main directory, this directory is not viewable to the public

It needs to be installed to the public_html directory. Move all the files to that folder and then go to the simplemachines.org website and get a file called "repair_settings.php" Upload that file to the directory that smf is in and point your browser to it and changes settings as needed. It should work after that.

Now whatever page i go to, it just says that the page cant be found

There must be a "public _html"

or see if you can find "www"

Go back to the root of your site and look for these two folders.
(They both are the same thing, 'www' is just a shortcut)

I made public_html and put everything in there, when i back as far as i can, public_html is the only folder. And i went into repair and it didnt do anything i dont think. :roflwtf:

You don`t have to make the "public_html" folder at all. You should see it when you go into cpanel.

Uh oh... I think he hosed his account.... Maybe an admin should check it out because all I'm seeing is a "Fedora Core Test Page."
