    Free account-How to correctly upload a file to cPanel

    I clicked on file manager then selected web root(public_html/www) then uploaded an html file. Now when I view my website it appears as an index with a link to the file I uploaded. I want the index to be deleted and the html file to be the default page when anyone views my website. I would really appreciate useful help. Thanks

    Howdy;
    The simplest way to make your website function as you wish will be to rename Testing.html to index.html, (lower case i because Linux is case sensitive), and then upload index.html to your public_html directory. The "index" file, (index.html, index.htm, index.php, etc.), is the default file in almost all cases.
    If you need additional assistance just post back.
