curl getting timed out on choppin

Hello,
php curl is getting timed out on choppin today.
Whats the matter?
Rest everything is working fine.
Just the http request gets timed out when my script runs into the curl part.
The script was working properly early this very day. And suddenly this problem...
Please help...

Could it be the external site that the cURL script is trying to connect to is the problem?

No. The external server is working fine. I just checked it.
Has any curl permissions been changed for the free accounts?
My script needs a port to connect but its not port 80.
The script was working fine earlier...

the problem still persists.
I once got that page temprorily unavailable thing after initiating the curl part of my script.
And rest of the times it gets timed out.
What has happend?
Something has been changed on the server?
Or is the update still going on?

Hi technotigerofgstek74,

Let's assume for a moment that the firewall is blocking the port and/or URL. Your chances of getting a favorable resolution will increase if you reveal the port, URL and IP's involved.


At the beginning of this year, when x10hosting had to block almost all URLs from port 80 due to user abuse, they were still nice enough to grant me an exception provided I gave a good explanation of what I was trying to accomplish. Consider also that the staff may still be working on the recent upgrades / fixes so it may take a while for a response.

I am trying to send data to a sms gateway. I can't reveal the ip address for security reasons but I can give you the port.
The port is 13014.
This port was working properly before the update.
Please help me to get it added to exception.
I will be very thankfull to you.

Your reply came when nobody seemed interested and I was about to quit.

I can give the ip to the staff if they want but I won't post it openly.
I have already mentioned the port. Such a port is commonly used for sending http requests to sms gateways.

Now again I have to wait for an uncertain reply form staff or a helpful member.
But as gomarc has given me hope, I'll be sticking here for it.

I do gotta say, running an SMS Bomber is an interesting way to try and get us to open a port up.

It didn't work though:

You are much mistaken sir.
I have not hosted any sms bomber.
I just had the option to send the sms upto a maximum of three times.
Three times is not bombing.
Bombing is when you send it hundreds of times.
And the gateway is located in a country where no such law is enforecd.
And my site is just a personal site which is not open to all.
Please understand and unsuspend my account. I am ready to remove that three times sending option as well.
Spam is not at all anywhere in the scenario. I just allowed some friends and family to send personal texts. Thats it. No mass useage.

But don't blame me for spam.

I have legitimate access to the gateway. It is owned by my company and I manage it.
I don't want to spam and increase our costs. Just wanted to give access to some of my friends.

X10 hosting has been my favourite but I didn't expected to get suspended so blindly.
You just gave a look to the site and declared it a bomber!
Please I request you to recheck it.
There was an option for sending a message three times thats it.
Even multiple recepients are not allowed!
How could anyone use it for spam?

I have plenty of servers at my workplace as well as paid hosting accounts. But I was here just for all the other reasons.
