SQL Connections Issues

Hello,

I created a forum as part of my main site, running MyBB, along with an Ajax chatroom. We don't even have many users, but already quite frequently we are getting the following errors:

HTTP Error 503 (in the ajax chat room)

AND

MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
1203 - User DATABASE NAME already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections
Query:
[READ] Unable to connect to MySQL server

Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

Can someone also tell me what the MySQL connection limits are for free hosting?
