I donwloaded the client version of filezilla. I also downloaded the secured configuration xml file and imported per your instruction to filezilla. I have been since trying a combination of connection steps so that I can upload my files to my server on x10hosting but haven't been successful. Could you please tell me the steps from a to z in order to transfer files between my computer and my hosting account using filezilla? Thanks very much.

The first step would be using a host url that actually resolves to the correct server. I'm guessing you used your main domain?
You would need to start with configuring that to point to our servers, which is done through your domain registrar. We do recommend that you set the domain to use our name servers: ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com
