FTP Public Files.. (need a lil hand)

Hey Everyone,

I am struggling with something I really cant figure out.
I have this game server and I got some files I want to distribute
to people who log into that game server.
I tried to put these files into ftp_public map.
But if i test this map on my browser it asks for a pass.
How can I make it so that people can read and download these files from this particular map.
But cant touch the rest of the files server?

Sorry Im kinda new to this, call me a noob if you will.
I did google first btw.. but can't find exactly what im looking for.

Well for one thing, game file hosting is clearly not allowed:

* File Storage: Accounts are not to be used for file storage, your account will be permenantly suspended if found to be breaking this rule. Downloads are only allowed on your x10Hosting account if they have to do directly with your website. e.g. you developed custom software and are selling it or giving it away. Accounts may not be used for mirrors, game file hosting, or any other type of file hosting not specified here.

Another thing is that there is no public ftp for guests to use in free hosting. This is to keep your account secure from anything that a random person might upload that is malicious to your hosting account and the free hosting server.

x10hosting is for websites, not file hosting. Where is your website?

Thank you very much for your reply, that explains a lot to me.
What about if I would buy a premium account.
Would I be allowed to host a few files on my ftp.

And if no.. what would be a good alternative.
I mean where could I go to get ftp access and direct link some files.
Anything that is free to affordable would be nice.
(I been looking my ass of for a good file host that allows me ftp.)

The answers are under the Content Restrictions sections. It's very clear that file hosting is not allowed there either, especially with what you are trying to do.
