How to connect x10 free hosting to domain?

Okay.

I have a subdomain, let's say it's abc.x10.mx

I have a domain, let's say it's abc.com

I now want my site to have abc.com/index.html instead of abc.x10.mx/index.html, likewise I want all of other pages of my site to come under abc.com and not the subdomain - I want to eliminate the subdomain and bring in the domain abc.com.

Now, how do I go about this? Is it an add-on domain, a parked domain? I don't know

So far I have changed the nameservers on the domain provider's side as ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com

I then added my domain in my cpanel as a 'parked' domain successfully. I then went to my account panel and turned my 'main domain' as my newly bought .com domain.

So I have currently:
- Switched nameservers
- Added domain as parked in cpanel
- Made my new domain, my main domain

I did all this only a few hours ago, if I leave it all as it is, will my site work like abc.com/index.html by tomorrow? As I read nameservers take sometimes up to a couple of days to process.

also I just found out every time I try to make my newly bought domain, my main domain, it fails. I get the following error:


Errorinformation
A change to your hosting account's primary domain.
A system error occurred while processing this action.
Error Code: C085843B

In my account panel, not cpanel, it says Parked Domains: None, even though I added one in cpanel.

You have to make it as your main domain OR park the domain NOT the Both

Okay thanks for the reply.When I tried making it main domain it failed so that's probably why.So if I leave it now, will it work around 12-24 hours from now? right now I go on my abc.com domain and it just goes to my subdomain. I want it to be like abc.com/index.html

only one have to be done. Either park the domain in Cpanel OR make it main domain in Account Panel.



You have wordpress site. You have to follow a procedure to make it work

I use Changing the URL directly in the database method to change the domain.

Remember to backup before making any changes to database

I just need to connect the domain to hosting, not change the subdomain url which I think that site you linked me to is about...

I just want to turn my abc.def.com domain to abc.com

I went in wordpress settings and changed site URL and it works fine!

BUT all the images are screwed now, the images were gathered from other sites but they still don't work, what did I do wrong?

I went to settings > general and changed site URL and wordpress URL to my new domain. They were both my subdomain before.
