No confirmation email received after changing contact email in control panel

I've tried to change my contact email in control panel, but never receive a confirmation email. I've tried specifying email addresses at different domains, tried using different web browser to submit the change, tried using the Resend Confirmation Email button, but nothing seems to work. I've checked the Junk/Spam folder for the email addresses I've tried, but nothing there.

Thanks for your reply. I google'd Chhattisgarh, India and I see you are half a world away from me! The problem that I am still having, is when I try to change my email address, I never receive the confirmation email. I also never receive emails from the forum, even though I subscribe to the threads with instant notification.
