500 internal error

just unzipped my joomla 1.7 install package and when i went to install i got this message.

anyone sure why?

Hi there, I suggest following what the instructions say, make sure that you have all files at 644 and folders at 755. There should be nothing at 777 on CHMOD

i have fixed the "500 internal error" but now i get a 404 error.
