Error with Curl.

I tried to install multipress autoglogging plugin.
It returned an error;

curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when safe_mode is enabled or an open_basedir is set in /home/john3825/public_html/blog2/wp-content/plugins/multipress-content/abstract_article.php at line 61

Feed returned no items.

I think I need to check Curl setting on .ini file. Does anyone know how to fix this error?
How to change php setting for safe mode? Can I remove open_basedir if there is any?
