I see that there is a limit of 100 emails that can be sent per hour.

What if you have a legitimate reason to send more than that like a mailing list?

Either use an external mail service such as google apps, or queue it so it sends 100 per hour until it finishes the mailing list (breaks down to about 16 per 10 minute period, if you have a newsletter app that has scheduling options.
