    sub-domain name increase

I just wanted to be able to create a few more subdomain names for my domain if so could you increase the quota to more than 20...? I start a lot of little projects and I like them to have their own subdomains because they are little applications that would not work as nicely under a folder.

If you would like to increase the amount of subdomains, etc. available, you will need to upgrade to one of our paid plans. You can view what each plan offers here

Thumbs down Re: sub-domain name increase

Well it was nice knowing you x10hosting but you went back to your sucky ways subdomains are not that hard to create that you can only make 3 I'm moving to a different free hoster that actually allows more than the absolute basics that I could reproduce on my 15 year old computer.

Honesty I'm appalled that your service sucks so badly that you actually have to have a forum for your support service and you don't get responses within 24 hours.

    Re: sub-domain name increase

While I can understand your frustration at x10Hosting's business model of encouraging users to purchase premium plans by limiting the specs of free plans, we do not tolerate insults of our free hosting support team. All of us that frequent these forums do so on a voluntary basis during our free time in order to help users such as yourself with issues. Is this a perfect system? No. Sometimes there isn't anyone online capable of answering a particular question, or a thread slips through the cracks. However, we try our best, and if you are expecting us to drop our lives to give you 1-hour support responses for a FREE service, then we don't want you here anyway.

LOL where did I say that I wanted support the same second that I asked for it? No where. I said 24 hours and in 24 hours someone should have seen it or at least answered it.

Why is the expire on the domain names set to 41 days do you realize that means I have to wait 41 days before I can use my domain name on another host ie: MY OWN COMPUTER?

    Re: sub-domain name increase

I would like to note that dns caches usually expire within 48 hours. You can usually speed up the process for yourself by clearing your browsers cache and flushing your DNS records as per the instructions in these wiki urls:

    http://x10hosting.com/wiki/How_to_Cl..._Browser_Cache
    http://x10hosting.com/wiki/How_do_I_Flush_my_DNS_Cache

Additionally, the support forums are handled by a small group of volunteers. A 24 hour wait for a response really is not that bad, as the usual average for a response is up to 48 hours. Most support systems on any service from any company, even paid services, will have a wait time of up to 48 hours for a response.
