    Name server change

    Hi,

I registered a domain at dotster.com. I have updated the name server information for the domain (PORTOFINOSRISTORANTE.COM) to NS1.X10HOSTING.COM and NS2.X10HOSTING.COM. Can you help me link that domain to http://portofinosristorante.x10.mx/?

Thank you for any assistance. I did search the forums. And this seems like such a common thing but I couldn't figure out how to do it myself.

    Thanks,
    Bill Kerr

Please follow the instructions in our wiki article:
    http://x10hosting.com/wiki/Domain

Basically, you can set your main domain or add a parked domain to activate it.
Use a parked domain if you wish to keep your x10.mx domain. Use a main domain if you do not.

    Re: Name server change

    1. Next time use the Forum account (a relative name) associated with the Free Hosting Account.

    2. If you want to get rid of the x10.mx domain, go to Account Panel https://x10hosting.com/control/login.php and change your main account name (remember to uncheck 'use x10 subdomain when entering your new choice)

    3. If you want to keep the x10.mx name and access the site via two different names, go to cPanel and add the .com name as a "parked" domain.

    4. #2 and #3 will take a little bit to take effect. Up to 24 hrs. Don't be alarmed by a "Server error" page that might come up. Just the system saying that it has not updated itself yet. Be patient when trying to reach the .com URL and clear your browser cache and history.

    5. I'll have the veal scallopini and the house chianti.
    Nothing is always absolutely so.
