DNS Settings for 2 x10hosting accounts

My friend and I have got a domain, and he has got another host as me. So I want his site as a subdomain of the domain name. Now Ive got this:
A record: mydomain.com -> 184.154.58.130
Cname record: www.mydomain.com -> 184.154.58.130
That is working, but when I add his:
A record: sub.mydomain.com -> (his IP)
Cname record: www.sub.mydomain.com -> (his IP)
its not working

What are you putting in for (his IP)? Is he also in the server Lotus? If so, then the IP will be the same. Are you also creating the records in the domain account? Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding.
