SMF is integrated in joomla. do i still need ads on both?

I integrated my forum into joomla. Do I still have to show the ads in the forum? When viewed through joomla, it has the ads twice right now. The forum is accesible without joomla though but only looks right through joomla. Does that mean I have to put the ad code on the forum? Is there a way I can view the forum only through joomla?

If the forum can be viewed seperately then you would needs seperate ad's displayed on the forum - even if it doesn't 'look right'.

I do believe there is a way to prevent the forum from being viewed outside of joomla, but I am not sure of the specifics - try asking on the joomla support forum.
