How to read Raw Access Logs on Windows computer?

I can download my raw access logs from cPanel. The archived raw access log is a ".gz" file. Once I have the file on my computer (Windows 7) I can decompress the .gz file using 7-Zip. However, I'm not able to read the uncompressed file. What software or method do I need to use to read an uncompressed raw access log on a Windows machine?

How did you try to read it?

Right click on the uncompressed file and select "Open with"--> Notepad/WordPad should work.
    Nothing is always absolutely so.

I was able to open the files with Notepad. However, all the access logs I try to view appear to be empty.
