Ok, I got that done now MySQL cannot connect to server!

I cannot connect to the server at all, I'm using this:
$conn = mysql_connect("localhost:/tmp/mysql.sock","mysql_username","mysql_user_password" );
mysql_select_db("mysql_database", $conn);

just use localhost

e.g. mysql_connect( "localhost", ...
