Trying to link my account to forum but can't get past "The hosting username....."

Both Login Usernames are jjturner and the domain I picked is x10hosting.com. Subdomain is jjturner, right?

My email address is jjturner@new.rr.com and was given for both the forum and the web space.

I received the email to activate membership and did that 10am this morning.

I go to www.x10hosting.com/login and log in.

It takes me to the page that says,"

In order to use the Ad-Enhanced hosting account management panel, you must have your forum account linked to your hosting account. Please enter your cPanel username below, you will receive an E-mail with further instructions. Be sure to have the same E-mail address registered with your cPanel account that your forum account has!

I put in jjturner for the account username and click link hosting account.

A little sign pops up on the top saying:

An Error Has Occurred
The hosting username you specified does not exist.

Please help!

I don't think you activated your account, as I can't seem to find it.

I did get the email for activation and clicked on the link. On going back and reading the mail, it says it is for my forum registration. I did not get a separate email for my web space. Is it possible that it will take a longer time to get that mail? It's been 9 hours since I registered online but have not gotten one for web hosting.....

When I log in on the home page and click aopply now, click through the Policies, answer all the questions to sign up for a free web hosting account I get this response:

An Error Has Occurred
You already have a hosting account, use it.

I think I do have an account but don't know why it thinks I don't when I try to link it to the forum account,
