    Unable to access cPanel

    Dear x10hosting

I have been unable to access the cPanel for my website for the last 15 hours or so.

    cPanel User Name: cclassen
    Website URL: chc.co.za
    Forum Login: Garfsfield

I have tried several things to try and see what is wrong.
1). Checked what the DNS server says for the A record. (74.86.133.216 )
2). Changed the domain to chc.exofire.net to try and see if that would help
3). Changed the domain back to chc.co.za

When I try to open: http://chc.co.za:2082/ All I get from IE is the following:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
    • If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.
I even did a Telnet to 74.86.133.216 on port 2082 as shown here:
    telnet 74.86.133.216 2082
Connecting To 74.86.133.216...Could not open connection to the host, on port 2082: Connect failed

I have noticed that there is a difference between the dns records on ns1.x10hosting.com and what is shown for the Server IP in the x10Hosting Account Managment Panel. I am not sure if this is even relevant.

At this point I am stumped :dunno: and can only ask that you please have a look at the problem of the cPanel for me. I hope that I have provided all the necessary information here to assist you with your support.

    Many thanks

The site opens fine to me. Have you tried clearing the cache?

    Re: Unable to access cPanel

    Hi GamingX

    Thanks for the quick reply.

The point that I am trying to make is that I cannot access any pages on port 2082. I have not had any problems with this in the past and I have no problem connecting to the main website on port 80. This was demonstrated by using Telnet to try connect to the relevant port on the server. Telnet failed and said it could not open a connection to that port.
My firewall allows IE and telnet to access any port on an outgoing connection, so the only thing that I can think that may be causing this is that I am being blocked by your firewall for that port.

I did flush the caches for both the browser and DNS and this did not resolve the issue.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Re: Unable to access cPanel

Could it be your DNS of your ISP? Can you access http://74.86.133.216:2082/ ?
If yes, something wrong with your DNS, if not could be firewall blocking the port.

    Re: Unable to access cPanel

What happens is exactly the same as trying to use the host name.

using Telnet to try and connect confirms it is NOT a DNS issue, but rather a port issue. i.e. telnet IP_Address Port_Number

    telnet 74.86.133.216 2082
