You can use any forum software, that is compatible with the server, on your website; IPB, vBulletin, MyBB, phpBB, SMF etc etc.

To add a forum to your site, you can either use the Fantastico De Luxe module in your cPanel, or you can download the software from their respectable websites, and then upload the extracted files via a file transfer protocol client(ftp) or with the file manager in your cPanel. If the forum software requires a MySQL database, you may have to create one.

    Hi

Yes phpbb needs a mysql. (mysql database).

In the cpanel there is a section about mysql databases, use the wizard to help create one for you.

    Re: forums?

    cheers man i appriciate that

ok you need to upload either through the cpanel or you can use a FTP upload manager... this is the easiest way.

then you type the directory into your web browser and it will take you to a page to configure or a form to fill out... (input of mysql info).

just fill it out and click install...

after that it should come up with a page that say something along the lines of 'make sure you remove the directories blaa blaa blaa' << this is done only if the install has worked. it can be done by either the upload manager or through the cpanel.

Post back if you need more info

    cheers

ok, unzip (extract) the folder containing the files for the phpbb.

put in a folder with your choice of lable, most just use 'forums'.

upload this folder in the 'public_html' folder of your hosting.

then go to 'http://YOURNAME.x10hosting.com/forums' or whatever it may be.

when you get to this point post back

    Re: forums?

Sorry m8 cant help you there, i usually use a FTP manager which can upload a folder....

I havnt had the chance to fiddle with my account because mine has gotten stuck in the changing on the servers thing...

BUT i THINK you can upload the file into the folder 'forums' and use a tool in the cpanel to unzip it. It can be done just not too sure if x10 has this feature.
