filezilla help

man i need help im new to this ftp thing. im trying to login to my account thru ftp so i can install phpbb skin but im seem to be having a noob problem with filezilla
how exactly do you connect? what do you put for address,user,password,port?
i put
address: ftp.user.x10hosting.com
User: my username
Password: the password the admin pm me
Port: i put 21

but when i click quickconnect it just keeps on retrying

Whats your url? You don't put in ftp.user.x10hosting.com.

For example, my site being conor-omuiri.com I would put in:

address: conor-omuiri.com
username: whatever
password: ******


Click connect and you should be good. Try www.smartFTP.com if you don't like Filezilla.

Host: yoursubdomain.x10hosting.com Port: 21
Servertype: FTP
Logontype: Normal (for the most part...)
User: cpanelusername (Just your cPanel user name, nothing else)
Password: yourpassword

And in future, you dont really have to worry about the port, as filezilla automatically puts port 21 in when you click on connect.

the admins just changed the root doamin not to long ago now when i try to connect thru ftp its says motkrs need pass or something can any help

You need to use your domain that you just got changed, not your old subdomain

neither the subdomain or my new domain dosent work i cant even view my webpage. my dns setting in my doamin account is already pointed towards the right place and its says ready and ok. but i still login to my cpanel,ftp, or my website so.... pls. help
