Need help setting up my newsletter!

Hello,

I created a website recently using a wysiwyg software called EzGenerator.
I set up a newsletter which is a feature that the program allows, it needed some details which I entered as follows (see attachment):


PHP mail settings:

Host: mail.marwenmema.x10hosting.com
Port: 25
Hello:

Authentication: Username: marwen
Password: ************


Then I successfully uploaded the website, which was working except that when someone fills the newsletter subscription form and clicks on 'Subscribe' an error page appears saying:

I see you've the "Basic" PHP version. Request the "Intermediate" PHP version at: http://x10hosting.com/account to have mail() and eval() functions enabled.

I successfully got version 2 of PHP, but now I'm getting the followng error when trying to subscribe:

If SMTP is used, get the smtp settings from your host provider, go to EZGenerator --> Project Settings --> PHP tab and set the smtp settings. If MAIL is used, check with your host provider if mail settings are correctly set.

I suppose the problem is probably a mistake in the SMTP account details I entered in EzGenerator (see the first post), so I tried these settings (changing the username):


Host: mail.marwenmema.x10hosting.com
Port: 25
Hello:

Authentication: Username: webmaster+marwenmema.x10hosting.com
Password: ************


But I kept getting the same error.
Anything wrong with my settings?

As username try: webmaster@marwenmema.x10hosting.com instead of webmaster+marwenmema.x10hosting.com

I tried that but it didn't seem to fix the problem, any suggestions please?

Check the error_log, is it showing any error?

Make sure the scripts permissions are set to 755.

By FTP or cPanel FileManager you can check & change folder & file permissions (Commonly known as CHMOD).
