    Unhappy Database server problem

    SOLVED

Hi, I'm trying to set up an osCommerce based eStore on my site and I'm having the following problem with the server and setting up the site:

There was a problem connecting to the database server. The following error had occured:
Host 'xx.xx.xxx.xx' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts'
Please verify the connection parameters and try again.
I have checked all the parameters, recreated the database and user account etc.
I researched that problem a bit, and I think this is the solution (but I'm not sure if I'm even on the right path)
Now I attempted 'flush hosts' in myphpadmin, but I get this error:

    SQL query:
    FLUSH HOSTS
    MySQL said:
#1227 - Access denied; you need the RELOAD privilege for this operation
The account that I'm using for that has all privlages, so I don't understand why it's giving me a hassle. The only thing I can think of is maybe x10 disabled some stuff for security reasons etc, or I'm trying the wrong solution entirely.
I haven't completed my studies yet, nor have I come across any errors such as those, so I'm a bit stuck at the moment.

Am I doing the right thing? If not, any help will be appreciated

    Lightbulb solved

    I solved the problem.

I changed my hostname to "localhost"

It seems to have gotten around that problem, or something else must've come right.
