when i upload something to the ftp how do i get a link for it?

You should upload all your files that you want to be viewable from your website into the public_html folder. If you upload a file called 'test.php' into the public_html folder, it would be publicly accessible here: http://soljasrevenge.com.x10hosting.com/test.php, for example.
