    Question Coppermine picture upload errors

:roflwerd: I got this message when I tried to upload a picture on my installation of Coppermine (1.3.2 or 1.3.3 or 1.3.4 all the same errors)... either login to my admin or user account:

Warning: move_uploaded_file(./albums/edit/mHTTP_temp_b44ba9b6.jpg): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/mygaller/public_html/Coppermine/upload.php on line 1197

Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/tmp/phpRAw6Ci' to './albums/edit/mHTTP_temp_b44ba9b6.jpg' in /home/mygaller/public_html/Coppermine/upload.php on line 1197
It used to work earlier during the day but suddently stopped working with the errors. I thought that maybe it was my 1.3.4 upgrade so I removed Coppermine and re-install from scratch again from cPanel and same thing. What's going on??? Something changed on the /tmp file permission or php config on the server?

I didn't change any file permissions to cause these errors. My album folders' permission are set to 755 and my php files (ie: upload.php) are set to permission 644.

    Please help!! Thanks.

Well, the images' folder permissions must be 777 or 775, for coppermine to add the thumbs an normal images

Question Re: Coppermine picture upload errors

    Hi!!

Like I mentionned in my post, my "Album/", "Album/edit/" and "Album/userpics/" folders are all have their permissions set to 755. I even tried to set them to 777 and still not working.

I suspect there's something wrong with the "/tmp/" folder's permission or something got changed in PHP... I looked into my tmp folder and nothing strange in there... maybe I'll try to set this to 777 and see although I doubt it will change anthing since I never touch the permissions for that folder.

My Coppermine upload functionality used to work so not sure why later during the day it stopped with the reported errors. I DID NOT CHANGE ANY FOLDERS OR FILE PERMISSIONS.

Anyone else Coppermine upload functionality worked or stopped working lately?
I removed my Coppermine install for now... got sick of reinstalling it and ending up with the same results (errors) every time!!

    Thanks in advance!!

    Re: Coppermine picture upload errors

Well I managed to make it work again... had to delete and recreate my album and all sub-folders. I'm just wondering if I should upgrade my Coppermine 1.3.2 to the latest stable release 1.3.4?? I did it before and it was quite painless but since my Coppermine upload is working now I don't want to mess it up again. Maybe I should wait will v1.3.4 is available from the cPanel Script Library or when 1.4.1 is in stable (non-beta) release.

Any suggestions? I know that v1.3.4 fixes some security advisories but functionality-wise, is it worth it to upgrade from 1.3.2 to 1.3.4?
