Setting up email in Outlook 2007

Hey everybody. I hate to sound like a complete moron, but I've been struggling with setting up SMTP in Outlook for the past few months. I had everything running perfectly on my old box, but of course my hard drive has to crash and now I can't seem to get SMTP configured correctly.

I've entered the server/login information found in my CPanel, and POP3 works perfectly fine. I've tried both the SSL and unencrypted route, and without fail, I get the "Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server."

I've tried what seems like every logical combination of settings, and I'm still stuck in this rut.

Has anybody else had issues with Outlook '07 and their x10 SMTP? If so, could you offer any advice? I don't know how much longer I can hold.

Go to your mail accounts in cpanel, click on the configure button. Either manually use those settings or downloads a config file to use. Make sure to select the right one.

See, that's my problem. I've been working with the exact settings provided, and I'm encountering the issue above. To make matters worse, I can't seem to find a config file for Outlook 07.

I'll check again once it comes back online... but seriously, I've tried every possible combination of settings. That made me believe that maybe there is a function needing enabled, etc, in outlook itself.
