    Question WebDisk Not Working

    When I try to open my Webdisk from the downloaded script file, it says:

    Internet Explorer could not open https://adamparkzer.x10hosting.com:2078/ as a web folder. Would you like to see its default view instead?
    I click Yes, then it says:

    There was a problem connecting to the WebDisk service. Please make sure ports 2078 (SSL) and 2077 are not firewalled.
    I don't have any ports being blocked by my firewall, and even then, I added both to my safe list. I tried opening from all different browsers, and was unable to access my Webdisk. All it shows is a list of my files, not a folder-icon interface like it used to when I had an XP machine. This problem started occurring after I switched to Vista.

    Thanks for your time, and I hope you can help.

    Re: WebDisk Not Working

    Mine seems to work fine. My firewall didn't complain at all about the outgoing port either. Looking at the code a little, it looks like you need to have the WebClient service up and running, as Internet Explorer is not supposed to be handling the web disc.

    Check out your services to see if it is working:
    My Computer->(right click) Manage->Services and Applications->Services->WebClient

    I activated the WebClient, but I'm getting the exact same results as I did before I started it. The only new thing it asks for is a certificate when using SSL, and the list of certificates I can choose from is blank.

    Additionally, when I try to set up the WebDisk manually, I get this error message: "The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another."

    Maybe you can do this:

    My Network Places->Add a network place->next->next->choose a network place->next->(your address https.....)->yes->yes->(user name and password)->next->finish

    this works for me.

    This is where I get the message "The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another."

    Re: WebDisk Not Working

    Are you doing this somewhere like a university or high school where they block some ports unconditionally?

    Nope, I'm trying this at home, and there's no filter on my internet.

    weird. I can connect to it completely fine on my computer (though I don't have your password :P)

    you're using your cpanel username and password, not your forum, right?

    Yep. But either way, I never reach the page where I have to type in my username and password.

    Is this something that I could get more help with by submitting a support ticket? It appears as if you're the only one on the forums motivated enough to help me.
