I am thinking of buying the XFX 8600 GT 256mb card.
Will it cause problems with my old 400w smps?
Do i need to go for a 500w smps?
Will that card work on XFX 650i Ultra - Motherboard ?

Best people to ask are the suppliers of the card.
Is it PCI/AGP. I regard to the psu, 400w should be sufficient, but yet again ask your supplier.

That depends on your equipment as well, if you have a single hard disk and less stuff like fans / ccfls then 400W true power should be sufficient. If you're like me with a peltier + watercooling + the works, then you'd probably need more than 1 power supply lol.
3 phase power ;P

Well, here is what I am going to buy.
Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Conroe 2.33GHz
XFX 650i Ultra - Motherboard
2GB DDR2 800mhz
160 SATA-II
XFX 8600 GT 256 mb
2-3 FANS (if it heats too much)
One DVD-RW and one Combo Drive.
Get a peltier :D It'll make sure everything stays nice and icy
