Please review my portfolio site

Hi Everyone,

Please give me your opinions about my website: http://www.areejobeid.ca.

This originally started as the final project for one of my elective classes. It was an introductory course to multimedia, and though I already had experience with html and css the teacher said we had to use a table layout. I am currently working on getting the same look but with a div and css layout. The coding at the moment needs some serious cleanup.

I really like the logo I made for my site, as well as the textures, but I feel something is missing. Any thoughts as to how I can improve on this specific design would be appreciated, or if you suggest a different layout, how I can make one that looks fresh but still suites my logo.

From what I can see you are a good graphic designer and photographer but (as always ) I don't like all of it.

When you make graphically rich portfolio with sketches and patterned background people expect a little less ordered layout. Maybe it sounds little strange but your layout is too ordered for your design style. You're graphic designer right? So why don't you think of something original, let your imagination and creativity lead you cos your portfolio is your showcase. You have to do your best to show what you can do especially if you're freelancer and you don't have much work behind.

So use the advantage of being a great graphic designer and create your portfolio as good as you can.

Like the style and the visual appeal you chose,

I also like the size, it works for an older person's 800X by 600X screen size. I do not have to scroll view content all the way down the page, the only page you have to scroll is the portfolio which you have included anchors to goto top... very nice!

The flash is nice, very clean. First thing I thought was that you must have some flash work as well, but No animated work in the portfolio . I dont think you need to include a link to your portfolio in the "about me" but thats just my opinion.

The design is nice and simple, and the falling leaves I could see growing on me. But I do think that the images themselves need to be showcased in a grander way, because they are after all, the prize of your site. Right now as plain thumbnails, it gives the appearance that you don't regard their quality as being high or good enough to showcase more.
