    Please help!

Hi, I'm really new to website design, and on a trial version of Dreamweaver, it's asking "what is the hostname or FTP address of your Web server", and I'm not sure where to find that on my account. It's possible it's right in front of me and just labeled something else, so I can't recognize it. Please help if you know! thanks

    Re: Please help!

Thanks Larry! That actually helped a lot - I had no idea I was even supposed to login to cPanel, that's how new I am. :happysad: Now from the info you gave me, what would be the FTP address or hostname of your server? I'm assuming mine would be ftp.katykabu.co.cc, but every time I put that into dreamweaver, it says I cannot connect. What should I look for on my cPanel site that will answer this?

    Re: Please help!

press the ftp icon in the cpanel

you should see some info. to download raw access log, take a look

it should tell you the ftp host name, in my case it's:

    ftp.hal.pcriot.com

    or

look in the main cpanel, find out the server your are on, in my case:stoli

so the host would be: stoli.x10hosting.com

or look in the main cpanel for your shared ip adddress, in my case it's: 69.162.76.170

so the ftp host would be : 69.162.76.170

one of these should work for your ftp host
