    how to create a members only pic folder

    can i create a folder that is password protected where access can only be gained via a user name and password!

    and can it be done via using sitereptile web site builder?

    or do i need special tools?

    any advice would be great ?

    yes you can do it with a username and password, the only way i know how to do it is with a php login system, im not sure how to do it with a website builder. If you want a good log in system i would suggest http://evolt.org/node/60384. and then not allow anyone unless they are logged in.

    Do you want multiple usernames and passwords to work to login or a single username/password combination?

    Quick and simple:

    cPanel --> Security --> Password Protect Directories

    Make one username/password combination and send to members
    Nothing is always absolutely so.

    thank you for the advice guys its justif i want to share family photos of my daughter and mi son

    as putting them up in an open web site isnt really agood idea!

    is it also possible to create a folder in a members directory to allow read and write rights to a folder?

    You can make a separate FTP or Webdisk account using your cPanel that allows people to connect to just a particular folder. Then, the people that want to edit the files on the specified folder can use their own FTP or Webdisk client to make changes.

    ive gone through the protect folder part of my control panel but cant find the single page i want to passwword protect ?

    if i up my web home page could someone point me in the right direction

    the folder i wanna password protect is under photos>family photos?

    where can i find the folder what directory will it be in?
