What do you think? I didn't make the design but I plan to use it.

I made some edits to 404s, using this nice Impromtu jquery popups: http://justinsnetwork.com/make404fjk...asdklfjklsdajf (if you don't have Javascript, you'll see a normal message).

Should I just work on my own theme? I'm certainly capable... it's just time consuming.

It's a nice theme. As long as you add your own touch to the template it doesn't have to be handmade.

Even though you didn't made the design you still have to make it work. There's one major problem whit it and it's called typography. To get something strait, type and font sizes are good it's color what bothers me. You only used one color (white) for your text and it's hard to distinguish regular text from headers and links. You have to use contrast and size is just not enough.

I would do some work on logo design. It is too plain. I would use some nice fonts. I personally use Logoease for my logo design and make logos not worse then of those paid services.
