Just finished the preliminary today.

I love it, especially the very creative RSS logo hiding behind the christmas tree.

I don't like how the content is so plain... but I don't know what I should do. Any suggestions?

I think I like it like that, because it's nice and easy on the eyes, and therefore easy to read. Maybe if you really felt compelled to, you could change the colour of thge gray bar to the left of each article-but be careful with bright colours.

I like the header.

Suggestion: make the nearly-black borders around the posts lighter (maybe about half the lightness of the grey line separating the grey and white sections of the post), and add a subtle gradient shade (8-12px high and not very dark) at the bottom of the post.

I'm assuming the coloured boxes at the bottom are going to hold ads?

Yep, those are great ideas. I'll play around a bit later.

yes, They'll either hold ads or a second sidebar (I'm gonna have a sidebar hanging off the right/left side of the content, just didn't include it in the image.)

Hmmm...I'm not a fan of the blue background, A little to bright. Not really a fan of the three colored boxes at the bottom either, but if they will holds adds it won't be to bad. I think the header should have something else in it. Right now its the right element and the left element. It makes the snow look like filler material rather than a background. I think it needs a little more personalization, something that screams you. A blog is about a person, and right now, the design doesn't seem to reflect any sort of personality or character.
