how do i upload tv shows faster?

hey, i tried uploading a tvshow vir FTP bit it took like for ever!!!,
how can i try and make it upload faster.

Legal issues like copyright aside for moment.. unless the show is in Public Domain like those at the Internet Archive

How big is the file that you are trying to upload?

A video file say flash for example properly compressed will allow a two hour movie to be reduced to between 300 and 600Mb in size.
