I like the second one a lot better than the first. Colors blend better. I'm not sure the border and while blur on the first one was a good choice. If you want to head over to www.pixel2life.com or www.effectica.com and check out some of the tutorials. Effectica has a lot of really awesome looking sigs both from their users and staff.

I actually agree with you about the white bluw on the first one. It doesnt blend very well with everything, I think i put too much of it :\
