    Bloated code?

I am wondering if programs like dreamweaver and joomla generate code that will slow a browser down. I am assuming its gotta be more code than if done from scratch, but is it enough to be noticably slower? And yes I do realize if you were going to make a forum it would be kind of silly to do it from scratch....

    Thanks,
    Jon

Probably not significantly. I'd supposed most of the supposed slowdown would come from badly coded javascript (memory leaks etc etc).

With today's broadband speeds, even a page that's 500k should load pretty fast. Gone are the days of spending countless hours optimizing a site for 56k.
