Suggestions on whether a formal study is needed in graphics and webdesign

Hi, I'm a bank examiner, for this reason, I'm just wondering if I can just take short courses to gain knowledge in graphics and webdesign? If it's possible, or its the trend, do you have suggestions on where I can take a good course on graphics and webdesign?

Thanks, I would really appreciate your suggestions and comments
    Edit:
Btw, I'm from the Philippines, and it would be helpful if forumers from the Philippines can assist me on this, Thanks!

I don't think you can actually teach designs and drawings. But you can make some concepts, so you will have an outline of the outcome. In the end, nothing will be perfect as you would like it to be. It's just matter of creativity and imagination rather than a course to be taught.

EDIT: The above is just about designs and not programming by the way.

There are courses at colleges that teach the concepts of graphics design and web design. I'd suggest searching the web for tutorials on the programs you wish to learn. If the tutorials aren't sufficient, then take a class because you'll be able to get real life help and such.

Being the cheap-a**ed filipina that I am, instead of taking courses, I just used Google to search for tutorials. This might be a very daunting task, but once you get the hang of it, it'll be a piece of cake. Although I probably gained a few pounds from emotional eating from the anger and frustration...

On second thought, if you don't have the time or the ice cream for the emotional stress you'll be facing when you do it alone, there are a lot of online courses of web/graphics design. I entered this string of words: online web graphics courses on google and it gave a long list of schools.

    Good luck!
If you ask for advice and I give it to you, you're free to take it or leave it. But please don't take it personally.

There are currently colleges around the Phillipines that should offer courses on computer design or something of the sort. If not, then I suggest you buy books from the local bookstore, because books are easier to understand compared to some websites.
