Its simple and I couldn't go too far without complicating the tutorial.

Hey man, nice work. This effect can go alot further than just having 2 colours.
Try putting a black/darker blue in the middle of where you have the cut off, and then place a lighter blue then the bottom at the top and should give it a tad more glossy effect.

I know. Like I said, teaching the basics in a tutorial and that was the outcome.
