When I first purchased a VPS service from x10 it was my first experience with linux, I had no idea what SSH was, apache2 was some nerd hellicopter thing & ps -ax was a typo. 6 months on and I'm a lot more familiar with the VPS setup, but far from an expert. 99% of tutorials start with words to the effect; "This tutorial assumes you already know bla" bla tutorial starts with... Yes you have probably been here too. The initial learning curve for administrating a VPS is rather steep & although it does get easier there is far more to learn than most people, including myself have time to get through. I think if we share our triumphs, good working practice and failures we will all be better for it. I have learned 'A LOT' in 6 months and having it all just stuck in my head is a bit of a waste really. There are also many questions that I have now and will no doubt continue to have in the future.
