Hi all. What do I do?

I found cPanel. I found public_html but I don't know how to edit it. So far I've heard that I have to edit public_html to upload my html file. Any help? I know I'm kinda illiterate but I don't mind looking dumb and asking stupid questions.

Hello bobthechimp!

public_html is a folder (directory) in your user directory. The web server is configured already to display HTML documents (and other materials) that are located in this directory. When a user visits your web site, (say, for example, http://bobthechimp.example.com/) the browser asks the server to display a page called index.html. That's what you need to do: create an index.html file then place it in the public_html folder.
