Hello X10 Forum !! I'm a new newbie !!!

Just registered at X10 Hosting today to code my new homepage and to train my php,mysql and html abilities...:hahano: (it's the first time that i am looking at a Server Panel at all.... and i am surprised what i am seeing.....) Well, which means i will trouble you with a lot of newbie questions....lol,hope i won't stress you up too much...)

And theres is just right here my first problem, (hope you dont mind posting it right here):
I created a database and one user to it with a single testtable. Now i'm trying to connect the database to
Open Office Base with the ODBC/MySQL Connector V5. I created a dataconnection in the Windows Control Center but i cannont connect correctly to the mysql-server with openoffice....

Server: http://adsoftware.x10hosting.com ( url to the mysql-server)
User : (my username created with mysql cpanel)
Password: (mypassword like it is shown in mysql cpanel)
database: (the base name like it is shown in mysql cpanel)
Port: default (3306)
Maybe the server adress be wrong or something else? Please help me ! Thanx a very lot.....

Hi and welcome to x10! For your MySQL problem, I'm not exactly sure what the problem is without looking at everything, but make sure when you are doing your username and database make sure you have your cpanel username in there, for example: cpaneluser_mysqluser and cpaneluser_database

Well, i'm sure i am using my cpanel username but i still can't connect:

Try using the server name instead of "adsoftware" - for example ciroc.x10hosting.com.

Welcome! Like jso said, try your server name that you signed up with such as I am "wowchat.x10hosting.com"
