    Exclamation Frustrated Newb!!! And...hi. :)

    Hi all,

New to the business-end of a website - I'm used to just surfing them!

I'm needing a bit of help, but am kind of afraid to ask...(my initial foray into asking for help around here got me into a little bit of trouble: I PM'ed an admin to ask for help...!!! Yes, n00b, I know.)

Hope I am now finally doing the right thing!

    1. Why are there so many folders and sub-folders in my File Manager?
    2. Do I need them all? Can I delete them/some of them and simply make what I need as I need it?
    3. If I delete them and later find a use for them, can I put them back?
    4. Which one am I supposed to put my website files in? I tried home/{username}/public_html but my site isn't loading when I go to the URL. (yes my page is called index.html)
    5. Is there a WYSIWYG editor on my cPanel? I clicked "view" and DAMN! I don't read html yet...
    6. Why are there 3 unix-directory type folders - and 2 public html ones, and the public ftp - do I need all these...??? (I just have a basic site, and I want to be able to put ZenCart on it - nothing more complicated than that and receiving response forms via email from the site!)

Well that's all I can think of to ask just now...driving me up the wall!:rant2:

Thanks in advance for all assistances rendered, much appreciated!

    1. The directories present in your account are used for internal purposes.
    2. Don't delete them. Your account may stop working then.
    3. If you have deleted some of them, you have request an Admin to re-create them for you.
    4. Yes. You have to upload your stuff to /home/[username]/public_html/ and your index page should be index.php or index.html
    5. I don't think so.
    6. Just upload your ZenCart installation to public_html and proceed to install it over web.
