It is probably due to them moving the server. Despite it saying 100% done, they are probably still tweaking things.
I'll see if I can extract the news system I use and update it a little. It is custom built so it is far from perfect, but it works and it has RSS. Currently, it is wired into my login system, so only I can post. I will edit it so that it requires a specific pass code.
I can't promise that I can get it working independently, but I'll have a go.

Edit: BTW, what is your website's address? When it comes back up, I'll use it to make sure it is as easy as possible to implement.

Of you're looking for flat file databases, http://cutephp.com/ is a great news system. It's honestly better than something anyone is going to cook up for some credits. :p (no offense to anyone looking to do this job) just thought I'd offer an alternative.

Sorry not paying for a license. And I would rather have something I can embed into my website to use the theme I am using.
