Another shot at a weekly raffle...

Okay, QuwenQ canceled his monthly raffle due to lack of interest. And oh my gawud, let's not even discuss WOW's ripoff. lol. But you have to admit that was funny. I swear, I almost PEED myself. For the simple idea of giving credit where credit is due, I will supply the direct links to their contest pages, since I got the idea from WowChat (oh my god) who got it from QuwenQ.

Possibly the Father of the raffle idea.

Unlike WoW's raffle, which I assume none of you would be interested in playing, I won't be entering...either as player number 1 or as a clone winner... And unlike QuwenQ's raffle, I won't be adding 500 credits to the jackpot. After all, I likes me credits. Also, unlike QuwenQ's, there is a 25 credit entry fee. It will also be a weekly raffle, since everyone seemed more interested in that one.


Here is how it will work. You donate 125 credits, 100 of which will be put in the pot, 25 will be eaten by me. After donating, post here to claim your spot. Please donate your credits FIRST. Otherwise, it will start and argument over placement, and I'm only doing this for fun. If it turns into work, someone else can take it up. lol. I will also use random.org to choose the winner. The contest will end on Wednesdays at whatever time I happen to do the contest. The winner will receive the credits in the pot. I did say I would not put credits into the pot, but if there is only one entrant, I will add 100 credits, so you at least get 200 credits. Hopefully there will be many more.


There have been many suggestions as to how to keep the raffle honest. I will not use screencast, because let's be honest, it's a random number generator. If I want the winner to be 3, can't I just keep doing it until the number 3 comes up? You'll just have to trust me. I use x10hosting to host my business, I'm not going to risk having my account deleted over a few credits. If you feel skeptical, I advise you not to play. I only want to do this to have fun and make a few extra credits each week. If it becomes a :rant2:headache:rant2: I won't do it anymore.

If you would like to be truly fair and prove you're not going to scam us, I will not be entering as I need to save up credits, so I could draw the number in an unbiased third-party matter, as the starter of the jackpot idea.

If this doesn't work out though because, with all due respect, you enter a lot of multiple accounts or get friends to enter, and we figure it out, I'm going to request that Corey bans this idea. My little friendly idea already failed twice due to unscrupulous users.

The problem? X10 itself - X10 needs maintaining with how many people forget to log in once every two weeks, or post warez and need to get unsuspended, or have crons running once a minute, or register 90 accounts...

You get the idea; they're too busy.

hmmmmmmmmmmm....... because of the incident with wowchat's raffle scam... i dont think this kind of thing can trusted anymore. why don't think of another good idea... i'm also planning to make a contest myself it's a good game and fair but i'll just wait until my credits gets big.

Yet again, I do, as long as an unbiased party such as myself pulls the number.
I started the idea and I STILL think it's excellent (heh) as long as someone unbiased and un-related pulls the number.

I would be happy to step in and conduct this raffle. As a Senior Staff member here, I am not about to risk my job, and the reputation of x10 to scam anyone.

I will, however, be offline for about 6 days as I am in the process of moving ( and have a ton of homework that is behind ) ... but will try and check in to see what people think.
