Red face Web Page design for use on x10Hosting

I'm new to X10 hosting and the forums. I've put a tentative site up at http://musicalDiscovery.x10Hosting.com . Any comments and feedback would be very welcome.

In particular, can someone explain to me what PHP is? :dunno:My site is just HTML written using M/S FrontPage. I have also used VB Script to make .ASP web pages, but not yet on x10 Hosting. Can I put .ASP coded pages onto X10?

How do people get hit counts onto their pages? :eek4: How do people find out how many hits each of their pages has received?:dunno:

What is a credit worth? How are credits earned? How are they spent?

Any wisdom on the above would be gratefully received.

first off, you posted in the wrong spot. Second I dont believe that .ASP pages can be used with X10 as .ASP requires a windows, not a linux server. PHP is a server side script which is handy for use with databases. Its essintally a programming language. To get hit counters onto you page, look in the CGI bin in your c-panel. It should explain some things in there. A credit is a kind of X10 currency whihc you can you use to purchase various things in the rewards center. Credits are earned by posting, fullfilling offers in the offers center (although I believe they are US only), and by completeing offers that are in the marketplace (usually requested by other people). Welcome to X10 and enjoy.

I do know that X10 supports PHP, you can use it to make your hit counter or what ever. If you need to find any cool scripts for PHP or ASP then you can go to http://www.hotscripts.com.

    Dupe posting

Hi, It would be nice if you delete your other duplicate post about this subject.

I would have posted earlier, but I have been staring at Agenator's sig for the past 8 hours. lol

My site is just HTML written using M/S FrontPage
There is nothing wrong with a totally html website. I think hand written is better than Mickeysoft frontpage, but that's my opinion.

How do people get hit counts onto their pages?
If you mean get more traffic hits, talk to friends, family, have them visit your website, have them do a search with Google, yahoo, alta vista. Add good new fresh content to your website every day.

Good luck with your website and be careful of copyright issues.

@ Agenator, I tried to go to http://guildrush.exofire.net/ and got a "Could not connect to remote server". I don't know if you know you have problems or not(website problems). cheers
