You've Got STDs! err... Mail!

Were you ever in a situation when you had to tell your partner(s) you had an STD, but couldn't find the courage to? Well, Brazil's got the perfect solution for you!

The Brazilian Health Ministry implemented the e-card concept to STDs. Now, you can email your partner letting them know that you might have an STD. Here's some sample text from a card: "Hi! I don't know if this is the best way to tell you, but I've learned that I have an STD."

For an example card (it's in Portuguese):

Although I don't think it's an excellent idea, it's better than nothing. These cards can help those that really care about their partners, but are too afraid to approach them.

wow... and here I thought the worst STD idea ever was to present it as a birthday present... "don't worry honey, I already got you your present. It's HIV!" (said with a big smile...)

I suppose this email idea is better than the person doing absolutely nothing - but only just.

Chances are, the emails will just end up in the recipient's Spam folder, & they will be none-the-wiser.

wow... and here I mis-read the post and thought they had the decency to suggest a real card, not just an e-card. Does it have a little animation to go with it like the e-cards I occasionally get from hallmark?

On another note, I'm realizing that this thread is bringing out a very morbid side of my homur...
