1 mbps(mega bits per second) = 128 KB/s
2 mbps(mega bits per second) = 256 KB/s

Depends also on how far away you are from your telestation

Vigge's numbers are correct. If you have cable, it's dependent on your signal quality as well as how busy your neighborhood is. With DSL you're more dependent on the distance your line is at. Fiber can run for miles without even seeing a slowdown for signal loss.

Those numbers are maximum download rates you can get.

If you want to know how to calculate it yourself (I mean if you haven't figured it out by now) just divide kbps with 8 and you'll get KB/s. For example:

1 mbps = 1024 kbps
1024 / 8 = 128
so 1 mbps = 128 KB/s

It also depends on the server you connect to. A good reliable test is Microsoft's server. They're usually pretty fast. I've had downloads over 2000 kbps on there.
