Unhappy Help with .zip archives plz!!

First of all, im trying to download the matrials that the US Military uses to train their translators in Serbo-Croatian. I aspire of going there one day and learning Serbo-Croatian but enough of that. I have found the rapidshare links:
The problem is that they are .zip001. When they are downloaded, they are recognised as a 001 filetype. I said open with WinZip and 15 minutes later after modifying the registry, I was back where I started. I renamed everything to [number].zip instead of .zip[number] which automatically changed the filetype to .zip. Then I thought I figured it out but no, I got an error saying that it was an invalid archive. So then I named them all the same name DLI_Serbo-Croatian_Course.zip and then the computer added the (1), (2), (3) thing and it still didn't work. I'm sure the download is fine because the fourm I found it on did not have any reports of bad links. I have also spent days trying to find torrents but all of them I found were dead. Could anybody please help?

uhm.... is this legal? I can't help but wonder for what reason the US Military would want to put their stuff on rapidshare.....

It looks as if the zip file has been split. You could try joining the files together into one big file before unzipping.

Open a DOS box (Command Prompt) and type
    Code:
    copy /b file1+file2+file3 file.zip
(substituting the actual filenames) and then unzip file.zip

I know there is a program called hjsplit that spltis archives like this and then joins them when downloaded. Try that.

Alright I'll try those after the files finish downloading. I deleted them after they didn't work so I have to spend another 4 hours trying to get them again. Oh and if anybody was wondering, the course is not restricted in any way and is not copyrighted. It is public domain.

Looks like you can download them from the official source: https://lmds.dliflc.edu/home.aspx
Wow, these are pretty good. Always useful to be able to say "Stop or I'll shoot... Surrender, you are a prisoner, lie on your stomach" in Iraqi. You never know when it may come in handy.
And there's a load of general language stuff too. 'My name is' sounds a lot like 'Iss me'.

Ha I go to that site every day along with fieldsupport.lingnet.org. Thay actually pretty much know me by name, epically their security tech haha. All the downloads they have available to people not on a .mil or .gov network are boring ant not the languages I want. I have most of the secure Iraqi Arabic and Pashto because their old site about 2 years ago had really crappy security; a file would be restricted but you would find the same thing unrestricted somewhere else on the site. I've emailed them asking why they block some stuff and like I said, I've already seen what it is, and they didn't reply haha
    Edit:
YES! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!
It finally started working when I merged the files in the command prompt. Thanks everybody for your help.
