Pay for advertsing on google, and links always helps. But the best way to advertise is having a good product to show. If you have a good product the word will spread.

I put the second one. Depending your site it might not be the best. I post links to my best content on ebaumsworld forums. Both my site and his are the same content.

I put the first and second. I don't think people will react too much if they see a flyer for some website ... or at least I wouldn't . Google usually works for me and trading links with sites of similar content gets a few visitors as well.

I'm sure you've already recieved enough suggestions but I would go with trading links with other sites. In my past experience you can also sign up for ranking sites. I think there's a bigger chance of people clicking links at their favorite sites more than searching it on google

After I heard people thoughts on links, I changed my mind. Linking might get you more hits/people ect.
