Why my monitor not responding to my pc signals?

When i start my computer, my monitor indicator blinks in the same way as in the case when pc has not been started and monitor is powered on. Besides i don't hear any beep and the two leds in the front of my pc cabinet glow constantly for nearly 5-10 min and then they never flash.

Re: Why my monitor not responding to my pc signals?

According to my experience with my TFT monitor these can be the possible causes:-
1)May be your VGA cable is damaged.
2)Sometimes if motherboard gets dead then display don't work too.
By looking at the description, it looks like you are using the CRT monitor. So above information may not work for you.

I am having the similar issue these days.My TFT monitor is dead and according to LG its power supply may be damaged.I don't know how much days they will take to repair it. .

I suggest you to check your monitor on somebody else's computer and if it still hangs then take it to authorized service center.

Dont send to service center, might as well, buy a new one...but then I think it's your graphics cards not compatable with your monitor...?/motherboard.

Thanks for ur quick replies guys! This is my fave pc for doing experiments nd i don't think that i can afford to buy a new one for doing experiments with it.
One more thing to add, i can open my dvd writer drive. Does it mean that my MoBo is alright?

No, it means your electrical supply and DVD reader work.

Find an extra monitor that supports the type of connection your video card supports (HDMI, DVI, VGA or DisplayPort) and see if you can get video from the computer. If that does not work, the graphics card whether embedded or in a PCI/AGP/PCI-E is probably dead or not receiving power. Try the graphics card in another PC capable of powering it up and see if you can get video if that is the case.

Check the cable. check all power connections, and if everything looks good. Then replace the cable. If that still doesnt work, its probably your video card.
